The first-ever virtual AADA Convention was held on November 10th and 11th, and by most accounts, was a success. For what has always been an in-person event, Patrick Tessier and Vanessa Hui did a great job of assembling a cast of industry and political speakers, enrolling participants, and delivering value – entirely online.

Thanks to our COVID-induced adoption of Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc., most participants were adept at engaging via video, with just a handful needing a lesson on camera placement and lighting.

Someone who doesn’t need any training is our Director of Sales and Marketing, Aaran Newman. Kitted out with a headset, studio lights and a slick presentation, he offered the attending dealers, OEMs, and third-party suppliers a collection of useful insights around adapting and prospering in the ‘new normal’, including:

1. The instant asset write-off for IT infrastructure
2. Cyber-security risks
3. Business systems & processes
4. Data analytics
5. Marketing

Given 2020’s challenges, it’s little surprise the event broke attendance records, with 977 people seeking answers about the road ahead. Indeed, the workshops saw 1,070 people attending. Impressive.

This article in GoAuto News details the topics covered in Aaran’s AADA workshop, The New Normal – Top 5 Things to Consider.
