Web App Privacy Policy
Auto-IT provides a range of Apps for use in Vehicle, Agricultural and Trucking dealership in Australia and in selected countries around the world. Auto-IT recognises the need to protect your privacy.
If you are using Auto-IT’s Tech Mobile App you will be an employee of or contractor to a Vehicle, Agricultural or Truck dealership business licensed to use Auto-IT’s Dealer Management System software. You will receive credentials that allow you to access the features of the App directly from your employer. Without suitable credentials the App will not create or store any private or sensitive information.
The data that these Apps may gather, process and store may include:
- Location services
- Tracking of route
In each of these Apps the underlying data is processed and stored by the licensed dealership. Data is not stored by Auto-IT. To understand what your dealership does with data produced by Auto-IT’s Apps you should refer to your dealership employer’s privacy policy. Licensed Dealerships warrant to Auto-IT that they have a Privacy Policy and that all data processed and/or stored in their Licensed Dealer Management System is handled in accordance with the Dealership’s Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy must as a minimum, comply with Privacy Principles or legislation in the country in which the dealership operates.
Where the App uses, creates or stores information that may be sensitive, Dealerships licensed by Auto-IT specifically warrant to Auto-IT that they obtain the employees written authority to gather and store the specific sensitive data or that they include reference to the sensitive data and its storage within the employment agreement signed by you. If you do not believe your employer has done this, you should contact the privacy officer at Auto-IT or your employer.

You can disable App permissions on the device you are using. You should immediately notify you employer if you do so. Where a licensed dealership lodges a support call regarding missing data and that data has not been stored due to withdrawal of permissions, the licenced dealership will be changed for that support call at Auto-IT’s then current rates.
How does the App keep your data safe?
- Access to stored data is controlled by permissions within the Dealer Management System software.
- The transmission of data is encrypted.
Should you wish to amend or update data stored in your employer’s Dealer Management System, you should contact your employer.
